Taking the plunge

I think I'm going to be taking the plunge and starting to use cloth diapers. I've ordered a couple of different ones, so we'll see how it goes. We'll still use disposable at night and at daycare, but I'd like to do cloth part time. Girl has inspired me. She has some super cute ones in her Etsy shop.

Knowing me...Carter may take his first poop in one and I'll be done with them. :-)

You are insane.... but I respect your decision! I can't imagine you cleaning out a big mound of gross poop out of them.

Good for you!! I've already told hubby I'd like to do cloth for any 'next' kids, but he nixed the investment this late in the game for Maggie.

I thought I would be the same way and I admit, I was grossed out at first but, dude, I love them. I love to use them, I love to make them. Hell I love to wash them.

I love cloth diapers. The poopy ones aren't that bad. We use BumGenius.

In response to Holly's remark...it would be nice if it was a "big mound". You may/may not like using them, but you will only know if you try. This has been on your mind for quite some time.

Good luck. I totally wanted to do cloth this time around, but had mixed feelings. Plus my husband hated the idea and didn't want to do it. I hate to think of all the millions of poopy diapers sitting out there in landfills. Yuck. We still use disposable and I stil bug my husband about it. I also heard that cloth diaper babies are easier to potty train. I am sure it won't be as bad as you think. They do have some really cute ones out there. I heard bumgenius are good ones.

Girl at least you are giving it a shot. Kudos to you!! I can't do it, but I'm proud of you for trying. Keep us updated on what you think!

You'll do fine! I love using them and the poop isnt that bad. As they get bigger, it gets more like ours and easier to just dump in the toilet!

I wanted to do them w/ both kids but I'm an all or nothing girl and since I can't do them at daycare, I won't do it. (Sure, I'd be using less disposables, but I just can't bring myself to use two types - I'm weird, I know.)

GL with them!!

Amy, they are sooooo easy! And Carter's butt will be so smooth ... honest. Let me know if you want to pick my brain. We've been CDing Ben since he was a month old.(BTW, BG are the kind we use, too.)
