Preparing myself

Monday will be the first time I won't be home to put my baby to sleep. I'll be at the hospital with Chris, and while I know he's in good hands with my mom, it makes me so sad that I won't be able to kiss and cuddle with him. I won't see him for almost 24 hours. I'm gonna miss that fuzzy-headed kid.

The first time not putting your child to bed is the hardest, but it will be the next morning before you know it. You will be where you need to be, by your husband's side. You are a great wife and mother. Chris and Carter are so lucky to have you and they know it. I promise to give Carter lots of hugs and kisses.

Being a nurse who's taken care of patients like Chris, there is no reason you have to be with him all night. He will be asleep for the most and will have people in and out if his room the rest. I'd be surprised if they allowed you to stay anyway. Go home, put Carter to bed and get a good nights sleep. You have several rough days ahead of you and you'll need to be rested for it. Chris will be in good hands and you can see him first thing in the morning. Just my opinion, of course. Do what you think is the best for you and your boys. All will go great with Chris' surgery and little C will be in good hands regardless. Good Luck to you all tomorrow!

It will be hard, for sure, but you know that Carter is in great hands. Good luck to Chris tomorrow. I'll call you later in the day.

I'm sure he'll have a GREAT time with Grandma!! Hoping things are back to "normal" in your home soon. Good luck with the surgery and recovery.

Hang in the hun! You're a good mommy and a good wife. Best wishes to Chris during his surgery.
