Icky butt continued...

It seems the hydrocortisone cream and butt paste are doing the trick. It looks much better today.

NG posted in the comments about a possible perfume allergy. We use all "sensitive" stuff so I don't think that's the issue. We'll see if it recurs. Right now it seems to be improving.

Oh, and Carter slept until 2 am last night! I had just woken up drenched in milk so I was pumping when he woke up. It was awesome. I got my 5 hours!

In case you're still in need of something fun to try... We use a ointment called Calmoseptine. It's the bombdiggity. We get it from our local hospital pharmacy, but I recently noticed that our local CVS was carrying it behind the counter. It's not too pricey and it's really worth every penny. I've been around the block a few times on butt creams and it's hands down my fave.

Mari had a horrid diaper rash once. The only thing that finally worked was putting nothing on it and letting her go commando as long as possible. Note: spread lots of absorbent towels around during airing out process!

Woo Hoo for 5 hours of sleep! That is awesome!

I'm glad to hear the diaper rash is going away. We use Aquaphor and it seems to work well.

If it continues, consider your diapers. Bryce suddenly developed a rash to the Huggies we'd always used and as soon as we switched to Pampers it went away. Who knows why b/c it seems the Pampers are the ones w/ a fragrance.

But, I hope it clears up soon! Nothing like thinking about your son's butt skin all the time. ;)

Have you tried Bag Balm? It is for cow's utters, but it works like a charm on the worst diaper rashes!
