Attacked...again

Tomorrow, I'll be calling the program that we use for Carter's daycare. Remember the biter from last year? He's on the attack again. The other day Carter came home with a bite on his arm and I asked who did it and he said the kid's name. And kept saying, "(name of kid) bite, (name of kid) bite." I talked to Shaista about it and she said she'd keep an eye out. Okay, no big deal. I was just bringing it to her attention so she can look out for this kid biting again.

But today, my baby came home with bite marks all over his arm. At least SIX of them! One of them is pretty bad, but thankfully none of them broke the skin. Chris picked him up and talked to Shaista and she said the kids were playing out back and one of the older kids (about 10 years old) caught the kid biting Carter and tried to stop him but the kid turned on him and started attacking him too! So at least we have it confirmed by a third party who the biter is, and not just relying on the testimony of a one-year-old.

Since this is AT LEAST the 3rd time this has happened, I feel it's time to get the program director involved. I'll be calling tomorrow, you can count on that.

(Click on the pics to make them bigger. You can really see the bite marks in the full size version.)

Poor Carter! I hope the director does something. In order for that kid to have had enough time to eat Carter and get into a fight with an older kid over it, someone dropped the ball a bit in paying attention.

She is not watching those children (Carter) close enough. That is awful. Shaista has some explaining to do. I hope Carter knows that kid is BAD.

Good lord. I can (and have) forgive a bite or two... kids bite. But wow, that many marks would make me think they aren't being watched closely, which is a way bigger problem.

Oh. My. LORD!! Your poor baby! Keep us updated, and I really hope that Carter keeps away from that kid. What little poop.

shoot, I'd like to know why the ADULTS are missing ALL of this biting!

It's time to find another daycare.

I'm so sad. That is not acceptable!

OUCH! Either the biting child needs a different daycare or Carter needs a different daycare. I think I remember when looking at daycares that they had provisions for kicking out the kids that did the biting if they couldn't get it under control after maybe two times.

If Woodbridge weren't such a hike, I'd say Carter could come hang out with Owen! No biting allowed in my house! :)

I do think that kids bite and that doesn't mean they are horrible children who will grow up to be killers. BUT the fact that he was bitten so many times and then it was another kid that finally noticed would make me flip out.

Oh no! That is NOT okay! Mama Bear would definitely be coming out of the cave. P had a biter in her class (ironically enough now they're best friends) - and he bit her at least once a week. Even that ticked me off to where I spoke with his Mom.

But that babysitter needs to be more proactive about this!

poor Carter. I think I told you about how I had to make a Child Neglect report on Sage's old daycare due to getting attacked by a biter. If they know there's a kid that bites, it's their responsibility to supervise the kids to make sure it doesn't reoccur.
