Some of the Mamistad girls were meeting up at Clemyjontri Park today so we thought that sounded like a great idea! I'd heard it gets packed on the weekend so we got there early (around 10:00) and we still had to park in the overflow lot. Carter had a blast! He ran around exploring all the structures, going down slides, running in the grass, swinging, going on the carousel. He really enjoyed himself.
This playground is so amazing. It's made for all kids...able-bodied, hearing- and sight-impaired, wheelchair-bound, everyone. It was really cool. I've never seen such a huge playground in my life, either. The swings really impressed me. They had your standard big kid and baby swings, but they also had swings with 5 point harnesses for kids with less body control. Carter liked that one I think because he felt safer swinging really hard. There's a pic below of him clapping, but he laughed and laughed the whole time he was swinging.
We only saw a few of the Mamistad girls, and not for long, because we'd been there a lot earlier than most of them. But it was still cool to see how much the kids had grown up since we last got together a few months ago. More than half of them are pregnant again! I can't imagine.
Check out the aerial view I stole from the website:

How did Annie's Playground compare, size wise? I think this place is way "prettier". Glad you guys had fun.
i love margold rods thay are asume
OMG - I am so there! Looks like a great time. :)
We LOVE that park! We adults also love mocking the fact that in one of the sign language displays they just chose some random sign language font which is NOT america sign language. Maybe it's Mexican Sign Language for the deaf immigrant kids. (No, I'm not being politically incorrect, there really is a language called Mexican Sign Language!)
That is one crazy playground.
We keep wanting to go to that park but I'm always afraid of the huge crowds! One of these days I'm going to take a weekday vacation so that Handsome, DH and I can go.
