All of the sudden, the past few nights, Carter wakes up every hour after the initial "nap" from around 8:00 to midnight. He wants to nurse every two hours and it's been horrible. What happened all of the sudden???
Thank God for my mother. She spent the night last night so she could stay home with Carter while I went to work today. After he woke up for the hundredth time at 5:15 or so, she held him and rocked him until I woke up TWO HOURS LATER. She sat there in the dark, no tv or book or anything; just the two of them. After having been up all night with him also. All just so I could get a few hours sleep. Is that amazing or what?
I just wish I knew what was going on with that boy.
Along the same lines...anyone have any thoughts on The Baby Whisperer?

Growth spurt?
That's so awesome of your mom!!
Could definitely be a growth spurt. I hope for your sake that way it will end ;) Lucas was sleeping all night until he was 6mo and it's no longer cool. I keep thinking WTH too.
Entering the 4 month sleep regression?
I read the book and some seemed far fetched, while some seemed to be great advice. I read it quick and just as quick, Ryker fell into this routine that we just know now. We don't need a book to tell us, we just go with his flow. I hope you find that soon. It is bound to happen I think.
Good luck!
I agree... growth spurt? This too shall pass! Or, perhaps Carter is ready for some sleep training... the question is, are you? Is he just waking up and is fine with some TLC? Sleep training might be in store unless you see yourself keeping him "company" for all hours of the night. Let me know if you want to chat! We used a mix of Dr. Weissbluth and the Sleep Easy Sleep Solution, starting at 4-5 months, then went hard core training at 6 months. Took just 5 days and we all slept like champs. Hang in there -- SLEEP, and sleep training, are topics I could go on and on about!! :)
Growth Spurt, teeth or 4 month sleep regression. Woohoo for a great mom.
Growth spurt was my first thought too. No matter the reason... it sucks. Your mom though? Completely rocks.
I think I read the baby whisperer back when Em was little. It obviously didn't make that big of an impression on me.
THANK GOD FOR GRANDPARENTS.
I have absolutely no advice for you that everyone else hasn't already offered. But if you need a meal, or someone to come play with him for a spell...Call me. I'll come play and you can nap.
Another person voting for growth spurt! And along those same lines, a developmental spurt too. Where he's attempting/learning new skills that he wants to practice. Might not be anything you notice but he does! But man, why does it always have to mean less sleep for mom? I'm glad you had some help last night!
We go through nights like that. Kudos for a great mom!!!
Glad you have the support you need. YAY for MOM!! :)
